About BallroomU
Trust us, regular school was never this much fun.
BallroomU was established in April 2016 by owner Austin Moon. Austin has been teaching dance professionally since 2001. When he relocated to North Carolina in 2016, he saw an opportunity to do things differently – to establish a dance studio that taught professional dance lessons to people of all ages in a welcoming and inclusive environment. Whether you want to compete in a grand ballroom or keep it social with your dance partner and new dance friends, BallroomU is the place for you! One of the only truly local studios, BallroomU is THE place to dance NOW.
No contracts. Just dancing.
At BallroomU there are no long-running expensive contracts. Our dance students simply choose their desired number of lessons and then enjoy one-on-one instruction with private teachers, along with free access to group classes and practice parties.

How we teach: The level system
At BallroomU, we use a curriculum that introduces movements to get students on the dance floor as soon as possible. Our goal is not to overwhelm, but rather to teach dance in a way that’s fun and easy to learn, where every pattern is designed to build on itself.
Our system consists of three standards: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Those standards are further broken down into four levels, each designed to help you grow as an accomplished dancer while keeping your learning fast, easy and fun!
Bronze
Think of this like getting your college education in dancing. This is the social standard. A student that has completed the Bronze levels (1-4) is confident, polished and highly sought after as a dance partner. No matter where you are or what music is playing, you will feel comfortable with your partner and confident that you can move around the dance floor. A Bronze dancer doesn’t overthink anything while they are dancing. He or she moves with style and ease.
Silver
Think of this standard as getting your master’s degree in dancing. Silver’s dance patterns consist of a higher degree of styling and technique. Complete the Silver levels (1-4) and you will really be able to glide across any dance floor and own it.
Gold
This is your Ph.D. (or black belt) in ballroom dancing. This standard is for those that wish to compete or perform at the highest level. Those who complete the Gold levels (1-4) can dance with an advanced level of styling, technique and showmanship.
