Ready for ballroom dance lessons?

Ready to discover a new passion and welcoming community?

At BallroomU, we teach dance lessons for dancers of all ages and at all levels. Our modern and welcoming dance studio is geared toward people who want to move their bodies and have fun learning popular dances, from waltz to tango, salsa, mambo and many more.

The Basics

Working one-on-one with our experienced instructors, you’ll learn basic movements along with proper technique and styling and how to move around a dance floor with confidence. All dance classes are taught in a judgment-free setting. We believe that if you can move, you can dance.

Come as you are. We teach:

  • Singles (No partner required)
  • Couples (We are an LGBTQ-welcoming studio)
  • Welcoming all ages
  • Children as young as 10

Private Dance Lessons

Private dance lessons are the best way to learn how to dance.

With an instructor’s undivided attention, you can move at a pace that is perfect for you. The focus will be on the dances that you want to work on – whether you’re getting ready to go out Salsa dancing, preparing for a friend’s wedding, or competing in a dance competition. Our highly trained dance instructors believe dance lessons should be fun. And with the help of our level-based curriculum, they’re easy! Dance Lessons can be scheduled Monday through Friday from 12 pm – 9 pm, or Saturdays from 11 am – 3 pm

Group Dance Classes

Group dance classes are free for students currently taking private dance lessons with BallroomU.

Work on your technique, pick up a new dance step and learn to dance alongside other BallroomU students. There are five weekly group dance classes for different levels of dancers. Private dance lessons are not held during the group classes, so all the instructors are available to help you out.

Newcomer

This class is designed to introduce the basic movements of the most popular social dances. No experience is necessary to join this class, and it’s free for first-timers who want to see if BallroomU is a good fit. The class covers two dances (either Foxtrot & Single Swing or Waltz & Club Swing), with the focus being timing and basic leading/following. Every third Newcomer Class is Latin Night, covering Salsa & Bachata.

Associate Bronze

This class is designed to introduce new dances and patterns, as well as reinforce previously taught material from private dance lessons. This class is for Bronze 1 & 2 dancers currently taking private lessons with BallroomU. The classes focus on a single dance and cover basic technique and styling as time permits.

Full Bronze

This class is designed to introduce new dances and patterns, as well as reinforce previously taught material from private dance lessons. This class is for Bronze 3 & 4 dancers currently taking private dance lessons with BallroomU. The class focuses on a single dance and demands a higher degree of technique and styling than the Associate Bronze classes.

Silver

This class is designed to introduce new patterns or to reinforce previously taught material from private dance lessons. This class is for Silver 1 & 2 dancers currently taking private dance lessons with BallroomU. This class focuses on a single dance and requires strong technique and styling.

Technique

This class covers technique, styling, advanced footwork or advanced leading/following for a single dance. This class is open to any student at the Bronze 1 level or above who is already taking private lessons at BallroomU. Students need a basic understanding of the dance being covered to participate, as patterns are not taught.

Practice Parties

Practice parties are the best way to learn how to use your new dance skills.

They help increase your success rate and build confidence. There are two practice parties each week, and every BallroomU instructor is there to help you! Practice Parties are free for students currently taking private dance lessons with BallroomU.

Newcomer Practice Party

This practice party directly follows the Newcomer Group Dance Class. It covers Foxtrot, Waltz, Single Swing & Club Swing dances. Every third Monday night is Latin Night, featuring Salsa, Bachata, Merengue & Rumba.

Friday Night Dance Party

This practice party is open to all students at the Bronze 1 level or above. This practice is twice as long as the newcomer’s night and cycles through more than 20 different dance styles. Dancers from outside BallroomU are encouraged to join us on Friday nights with a $15 cover.

We specialize in wedding dance lessons

At BallroomU we want to help you make that first dance something that will be talked about for years to come.

Do you already have a song picked out? Are you looking for dance lessons for a single song or would you like to learn to dance throughout your reception? Either way, we are here for you. Our instructors are experienced in teaching wedding dances, and they will teach you the movements you need to know to amaze friends and family.

Kids’ Dance Lessons

At BallroomU, we teach children to dance!

Kids pick up dancing very quickly, so it is a great idea to get them moving sooner rather than later. If they learn to dance now, it will likely become something they can use and enjoy throughout their lives. Don’t wait, call us at (919) 601-7010 to set up your first lesson!

Guest Program

The Guest Program is the best way to share the excitement of social dancing with friends and family!

This program can only be offered by current BallroomU students. For only $50, anyone you know can take two 40-minute private dance lessons with one of our highly skilled instructors. As an added incentive, the student that brought them in will receive a free private lesson if the guest continues at BallroomU beyond the guest special. To qualify as a guest, singles/couples must be new to BallroomU and live in the area.
